Motorized shades and window treatments for designers in Los Angeles, CA

When you put a window treatment in front of your client, your name is attached to the project, so of course you’re seeking the best systems to match your designs. Window Collections works with interior designers across Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, so the shades and drapery you specify go in the way you drew them, and keep working after you’ve moved on to the next project.

Window Collections is a trade partner to designers working on ultra-luxury homes. We bring three decades of experience and have been an authorized Lutron dealer since 2004.

How We Work With Interior Design Teams in Los Angeles

Window treatments are one of the last things to go into a home, but they’re one of the first things a client notices. Issues with motorized shades often start when different trades are working on multiple systems at the same time during a project. We take that coordination off your plate, working alongside you and your client from the first concept. We also act as the intermediary with the architect, contractor, and electrician so the install matches the design.

Here’s what we handle for your projects:

  • Assisting with drapery design and options, including solutions for challenging applications
  • Supplying design sketches for window treatments
  • Meeting with you and your client to answer questions
  • Acting as the intermediary between the design team and the architect, contractor, and electrician so the installation goes the way it was planned
  • Providing sample swatches and memo samples of fabrics as needed
  • Researching fabric options based on your design theme and color
  • Keeping you up to date on the latest window covering design and technology

Lutron Shades for Design Projects at Every Level

Some clients come in expecting the very best, and that’s often where we start. As an authorized Lutron dealer, we specify the top of the Lutron line for the rooms where a treatment has to disappear into the architecture and move without a sound.

The line also scales down to more accessible options. That matters when a guest wing, a secondary room, or a phased budget doesn’t call for the top tier. You don’t have to choose between the right look and the right number. If budget is drawing a line on a project, raise it early, and we’ll show you where each tier makes sense room by room.

Because we also handle Lutron lighting control, shades and lighting can be planned as one system. Your client gets one keypad by the door instead of a wall of switches, and motorized shades can run on a schedule or a simple voice command.

Custom Drapery, Shades, and Exterior Shading for Your Designs

Every project calls for a different mix. These are the categories designers ask us about most:

    • Custom drapery: Motorized or manual custom draperies, measured for your window sizes and design direction.
    • Motorized shades: Roller, blackout, and layered shades sized to the opening.
    • Exterior shading: Exterior shading stops heat and glare before they reach the glass, which protects art, millwork, and floors.
    • Pergolas and outdoor structures: Renson systems extend the design to the terrace and integrate with Lutron.
Shade and Blind Styles We Specify

    Motorized and manual options include:

    • sleek motorized roller shades
    • blackout roller shades for bedrooms and other rooms that need full light control
    • honeycomb shades
    • skylight shades
    • layered shades

Shades can be fitted inside the window frame where your design calls for a clean reveal. Classic Venetian and faux wood blinds and vertical blinds are also available.

Why Designers in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Choose Window Collections

Your reputation rides on every vendor you bring into a client’s home. We treat ours the same way. Part of our job is catching functional and technical issues before they reach the job site, so the conversation with your client stays about the design.

Design assistance, measurement, fabrication coordination, installation, and programming are handled in-house, so you’re not managing four vendors. If a system needs service after installation, that support is part of the ongoing relationship, and you won’t be fielding service calls yourself.

Serving Designers Across Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

Our office is on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, and we work on projects throughout the region:

Los Angeles and Beverly Hills: Our home base, where we partner with designers on ultra-luxury new builds and remodels.

South Bay: Coastal projects from Palos Verdes to Manhattan Beach. See our South Bay work.

Pacific Palisades and Malibu: Much of the work here is ground-up, including homes being rebuilt after the recent fires, which makes early specification especially valuable. See our Pacific Palisades and Malibu work.

Frequently Asked Questions From Interior Designers

How do you work alongside the designer and the client?

You lead the design, and we support it. We meet with you and your client to answer questions, supply sketches and options, and handle the technical side with the other trades. The client hears one consistent plan, and it’s yours.

Do you provide memo samples and specifications?

Yes. We provide memo samples and sample swatches as needed, research fabric options against your design theme and color, and supply design sketches for the treatments you’re specifying. We also help find solutions for challenging applications, so the treatment you specify works at the window.

Can you coordinate pre-wire with our electrician?

Yes, and earlier is better. We work directly with your electrician on where power needs to land for motorized shades and drapery before walls close, while changes are still inexpensive. For finished rooms, battery-powered shades are an option. Hardwired, plug-in, and solar-powered options are also available, depending on the treatment and the room.

What are lead times for custom window treatments?

Fabrication timelines vary by product and configuration, and we confirm them at the specification stage. If your install date is fixed, bring us in at specification so the schedule works backward from it. Custom draperies typically run eight to twelve weeks from fabric approval, and complex projects can run longer.

Do you take on out-of-state projects?

Yes. We’ve completed installations in New York, Montana, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, and beyond, often for clients whose primary home we’ve already done in Los Angeles. Projects outside Southern California are considered by consultation. See our out-of-state projects.

What happens if something needs service after installation?

Service is part of the relationship. Lutron systems we install carry an 8-year service warranty, and we handle service directly with the homeowner so you aren’t fielding calls after handoff. The same in-house team that designed, installed, and programmed the system handles the service.
