Custom Drapery Fabrication for Los Angeles Design Teams

Drapery does more than control light or create privacy. It is usually the softest thing in a room full of hard surfaces, and it carries more of the finished feeling than almost anything else a designer specifies.

That only holds if the fabrication is right. A panel that breaks in the wrong place or a stack that eats six inches of glass will read as a mistake, no matter how good the fabric is. That’s why we use only the finest fabrics and hand-craftsmanship, and we measure every opening ourselves rather than working from someone else's numbers.

Our selections run across traditional treatments in rich, weighted fabrics and contemporary panels cut to accentuate a home's architecture. Valances are available as a finishing touch, framing the treatment and adding depth and character to the overall design.

Luxury Drapery Fabrics and Hardware for Designers

Most designers come to us with the fabric already chosen. Sometimes it is one of ours, and sometimes it arrives from your own line, and both are normal here.

We carry an extensive selection of designer fabrics from Beacon Hill, Robert Allen, and Kravet, as well as one of the largest hardware selections in the market from Busche, JL Anthony, and the Finial Company. What matters more than the list is matching the fabric to what the window is being asked to do.

Sheers and Light-Filtering Panels

Sheers provide privacy during the day without closing off a view, which makes them the usual choice for rooms where the sightline is why the house was built the way it was. They stack tightly and read as softness rather than as a window covering.

Lined and Blackout Draperies

Weighted linings give a panel its fall and its light control. Primary bedrooms are where this matters most, and where the lining choice does more work than the face fabric.

Draperies Layered With Shades

Plenty of rooms need two things from one window. A sunscreen or blackout shade handles the technical job while the drapery handles the room, and the two can run on separate controls or move together. Layering, including dual window shades, is worth deciding early because it changes the pocket depth, the hardware, and sometimes the ceiling detail.

Motorized Drapery Tracks and Hardware

A beautiful panel on a track that stutters or stops short will undo the whole effect. Motorization is where drapery most often goes wrong, and it is the part of the job we would rather own than hand off.

As a Lutron dealer, we specify drapery tracks that open and close in one smooth, quiet sweep and stop precisely where they are told. Tracks are built for your fabric, not the other way around, so the panel you selected is the one that gets hung.

Straight and curved runs: Standard curved tracks turn inside or outside a 90-degree corner. Custom-curved tracks follow bay windows and curved walls where a straight run has no chance.

Pleat styles: Pinch pleat for structured, tailored folds. Ripple fold for a smoother, more contemporary wave.

System tiers: Palladiom drapery is the flagship, combining the slenderness of a traditional curtain pole with a concealed automated track. Sivoia drapery is the more accessible tier and the specification-grade choice for most residential projects.

One system with the shades: Drapery, shades, and lighting can share the same keypad and the same scenes, so a room responds as one.

Custom Drapery Lead Times and Project Timelines

Custom draperies run eight to twelve weeks from fabric approval. That clock starts at approval rather than at the start of the project, which puts the real deadline earlier than most people expect.

A year-end install is the clearest example: committing in October is comfortable, and committing in November becomes a conversation.

Fabric availability is the variable that most affects this number. Confirming stock before approval protects the date more reliably than anything else in the process.

On new construction and renovation, the schedule usually belongs to the project rather than to us. The more useful move is to settle on measurements and hardware decisions while the site is still accessible, which keeps drapery off the critical path at the end of a job when everything else is already compressed.

Send us the rooms and the date you are working toward, and we will tell you what the schedule actually allows before anyone commits to it.

Why Design Teams Work With Window Collections

You have a client who is paying attention and a schedule that has already slipped once. Drapery should be one less thing on your list, not one more.

Three decades in Los Angeles

We have worked with Southern California design teams since the 1990s, on projects where the drapery was the last visible thing between a job and a reveal.

One team from the first sketch to the final adjustment.

Design assistance, measurement, fabrication coordination, installation, and programming are handled in-house. You are not managing four vendors.

We work according to your drawings.

Our role is to execute your design, not to redirect it. When we see a conflict between the hardware and the architecture, you hear about it before it's too late to solve it.

Installation that respects a finished house.

Our installers work in homes that are near completion or already occupied, and they treat them that way.

Custom Drapery FAQs

How long do custom draperies take?

Eight to twelve weeks from fabric approval. Fabric availability is the most common variable, so confirming stock before approval is the single best way to protect the date. Complex projects can run longer, so for a year-end install, plan on approving fabric in October.

Can drapery tracks be manual instead of motorized?

Manual tracks are available and still make sense for secondary windows or where a panel is decorative and rarely drawn. For wide spans, high headers, or anything a client will operate daily, motorized tracks are worth the extra cost. Motorized tracks can also share a keypad and scenes with the shades and lighting in the room.

Can we use our own fabric?

Customers' own material is standard practice here, and the tracks and hardware are built around the fabric you supply. Send us the specs early so we can confirm the fabric suits the track and the stack you have in mind.

Can draperies be layered with shades on the same window?

Regularly. The drapery complements the home’s design while the shade manages glare and heat. Layering affects pocket depth and hardware, so it is better to raise it during design than to discover it during installation. Drapery and shades can run on separate controls or move together from one keypad.

What does the fabrication and installation process look like?

We review your drawings, confirm the fabric and hardware, and then field-measure every opening ourselves. Fabrication follows, and our own installers hang and adjust the panels. If the draperies are motorized, we program them before we leave. Design assistance, measurement, installation, and programming are handled in-house, so you work with one team from drawings to programming.
